014221 Learning in the Digital Age
Subject Learning Goals
Evaluate current digital learning technologies and how they might enhance learning in a school environment. In my context, this might be exploring how to best implement existing digital technologies in Mathematics and Music to maximise learning and looking at the issue of handwriting vs screen learning.
Identify an issue in my teaching pedagogy that would benefit from a digitally enabled solution.
This might be
developing a digital tool for teachers to track the development of learning dispositions and/or the General Capabilities required in the new Australian Curriculum 9.0 such as such as Critical and Creative Thinking, Digital Literacy, Ethical Understanding, Intercultural Understanding, Literacy, Numeracy, Personal and Social capability.
develop tools for maths staff to analyse data generated by existing technologies to inform the next step in learning for a class or individuals.
to find a tool to provide staff and students with a way to track outcomes against a Learning Progression.
Learn how to effectively communicate ideas about digital learning using multi-modal approaches. This might be a presentation to inspire and engage staff in integrating general skills in their curriculum.
Learn how to communicate appropriately with a range of genres and technologies, and to investigate appropriate platforms and mediums for online student collaboration.
Linking Statement
The Subject Learning Goals for Learning in the Digital Age seek to find tools and pedagogies that might help staff and students incorporate and track General Capabilities that are explicitly required of students and staff to thrive in the 21 century and as outlined in my Course Learning Goals. I would also like to explore the tension between online and tactile learning and whether this can be optimised for Mathematics software.
